We invite your child to join outdoor educators Mo and Rachel on an adventure into the enchanted woods of the Salisbury Mills Preserve! This magical forest, tucked along the Leicester River and cared for by MALT, is full of mysteries waiting to be discovered.
Hidden among the new structures and trees are the crumbling remains of old mills and quiet river beds. Long ago, people used this land for iron forges and wool and paper mills — and today, those stone ruins feel like secret hideouts from another time. Nature has slowly reclaimed the land, turning it back into a wild, peaceful forest that feels straight out of a storybook.
Kids will explore the woods, play games, learn about the land’s history, build curiosity, and connect with nature through hands-on outdoor adventures. Mo is working together with MALT Youth Education Programs for this afterschool program which invites kids to run, imagine, discover, and learn in one of the most special outdoor locations around.
Get ready to explore, get muddy, and uncover the stories hidden in the forest!
